As the Meals on Wheels of RI organization prepares to meet the challenges of the future, it does so with years of experience and expertise. We are very proud to introduce the people that will help to create and execute new policies in the future.

Sandy Centazzo,
President and CEO

Began employment in 1981 as an administrative assistant, becoming Assistant Director in January 1991. On July 1, 1991 she was appointed Executive Director. She is on the Board of the National Organization Meals on Wheels of America and has brought many new ideas and programs to Rhode Island. She is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island and has various certifications in the field of aging.

Laurianne Kaplan,
Director of Operations


Began employment in 1988 as an assistant coordinator. In 1991 she was promoted to Assistant Director. Her duties include many administrative tasks. She has the nickname "jack of all trades". Truly a troubleshooter, Lauri is always ready to go the extra mile and pitch in. She is a graduate of Quinnipiac College.

Pauline Asprinio,
Nutrition Director

Beginning employment in 2003, Pauline serves as the Nutrition Director and the Director of the Congregate Nutrition Program which includes 17 dining sites in the city of Providence and Little Compton. She is a licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist for the State of R.I. She has an extensive background in senior care as well as food service management and catering, with approximately 23 years in the field. Pauline received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Rhode Island in Nutrition and Dietetics. She is certified in food safety and sanitation. She is both a member of the Forum on Aging and the R.I. Food Safety Task Force.

Helen M. Deines, RN, L.I.C.S.W.,
Clinical Director

Began employment in 1987 as a social worker. In 1991 she was promoted to supervise the case management program which included a staff of five case managers. In 1997 she was appointed Clinical Director and supervised 17 case managers covering half of the state. Her skills are known statewide and she has been very instrumental in establishing protocol for the state. She received her BA and masters in social work from Rhode Island College and her RN at Roger Williams School of Nursing.

Patricia Sullivan,
Finance & MIS Director
Began employment in 1990 as an accountant. In 1994 Pat was promoted to Director of Finance & MIS. Her skills in finance have allowed her to carry on the business of the organization without a flaw. She is skilled and knowledgeable in the field of computers and has been responsible for getting the organization prepared to go forward. She is a graduate of Bryant College.

Diane Brissette,
Program Director

Began with the Meals on Wheels Home Delivered department in September 1998, as the Route Coordinator/Office Manager. In 2002, she was promoted to Program Manager/Volunteer Coordinator and in January 2003 was promoted to Program Director overseeing the entire Home Delivered department supervising a staff of 25 and approximately 500 volunteers. She comes to us with over 25 years of office management experience in the education & federal government fields.
