Meals on Wheels of Rhode Island is thrilled to announce a $50,000 grant award from Centreville Savings Bank Charitable Foundation.
This generous gift will be used to empower the organization’s crucial meal programs, social services and outreach to senior and disabled clients through the state. A portion of the award will be used to fund the newly named Centreville Bank Emergency Meal Program! This Program provides additional meals that are “shelf stable”, making sure thousands of homebound clients have meals when inclement weather or other emergencies prevent the organization from delivering meals.
“We are truly honored to be a recipient of this significant gift,” said Heather Amaral, Meals on Wheels of Rhode Island Executive Director. “It is a privilege to have this wonderful partnership with Centreville Bank. Their continued support and generosity is vital in helping us to achieve our vision that no senior will go hungry or experience social isolation. They continue to be an inspiration in community awareness and support”.
“After funding last winter’s Emergency Meal Program, we took a more active role in the mission of Meals on Wheels and the services they provide,” stated Tom Lamb, Centreville Bank President & CEO. “In order to sustain the efforts they provide state-wide, we were delighted to increase our support of their tremendous efforts. We’re very proud to be affiliated with the organization.”
