This March, we’re asking you to be a part of something special.
We’re asking you to join our annual March for Meals campaign and add your voice to the thousands who, together, will advocate for the thousands of seniors we serve across Rhode Island.
With your help, we’ll raise support for the work we do to ensure the nutrition, safety and quality-of-life of our elderly and homebound clients.
Throughout the month of March, elected officials and other leaders will help in this effort by personally delivering meals to homebound Rhode Islanders and raising awareness of the critical need for Meals on Wheels of RI services.
You can help our seniors by making a donation during March for Meals. Your support will provide seniors and other homebound Rhode Islanders with complete and nutritious daily meals, vital safety checks and friendly visits with trained Meals on Wheels of RI volunteers.
Because we are not an affiliate of a national organization, every dollar of your donation will help an at-risk Rhode Islander remain healthy and safe living in their own home. You’ll be helping your neighbors enjoy improved mental and physical health as well as reduced anxiety and lower rates of costly hospitalizations.
Last year, Meals on Wheels of RI volunteers delivered more than 340,000 meals to 2,500 clients, and we served thousands more through the Capital City Café and Senior Restaurant programs. But, we need your help to continue these efforts and to be able to serve the hundreds of seniors on our waitlist.
Your generous gift this month will help us to combat hunger and isolation among our homebound and elderly clients. And, if you follow our Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter feeds, we encourage you to share our stories and help us spread the word.
With your help, we will improve the lives of those in our communities.
Donations are gratefully accepted online, by calling the development department at (401) 351-6700 or by mail to Meals on Wheels of RI, 70 Bath St., Providence, RI 02908.
On behalf of our seniors, thank you.
