Substitute Driver

The Substitute Driver supports the day to day operation of Meals on Wheels of Rhode Island’s home delivered meal program. This includes ensuring there are sufficient meals for the route, delivering meals, conducing a safety check and providing home bound seniors an opportunity for socialization.

This is a per diem position; Monday through Friday with core hours of 9:00 am – 2:30 pm; as needed.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Drive a Meals on Wheels of RI delivery vehicle

· Ensure that sufficient entrées and cold packs are available for each recipient

· Conduct a safety check upon meal delivery and report concerns

· Provide client an opportunity for socialization

· Deliver menus, greeting cards and any other informational material

· Keep delivery vehicle clean

· Report any damage to delivery vehicle

· Deliver emergency shelf stable food/frozen dinners to clients, as needed

· Adhere to the Employee Handbook and Driver Rules & Regulations

· Attend and participate in staff meetings and special events

· Other duties as assigned

Home Delivered Assistant

The Home Delivered Meal Program Assistant supports the day-to-day operation of Meals on Wheels of RI’s Home-Delivered Meal Program. This includes assisting with the coordination of the home-delivered meals and delivery routes, providing phone support, and customer service.

This is a part-time position; Monday through Friday with core hours of 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

– Support the activities of day-to-day of the Home-Delivered Meal Program

– Take client referrals, cancellations, restarts, no answers, etc. from various sources and input said information into the database system

– Prepare correspondence and information for clients, to include but not limited to new start packets, birthday cards, menus, etc.

– Update referral records pertaining to missing or incorrect information.

– Assist in notifying new clients and/or their guardians of the start date, review the guidelines for the meal program and activate and update status utilizing the SERVtracker program

– Provide assistance and serve as back-up to other team members as needed

Major Gifts Officer

The Major Gifts Officer works closely with the Director, External Relations & Mission Advancement to develop and execute a major gifts program, managing a portfolio of prospects and donors and the research, cultivation and solicitation of major gifts to the organization.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

– Develop and execute an annual major gifts program that supports fundraising goals as outlined in the strategic plan

– Implement an annual major gifts program that results in securing unrestricted gifts from individual donors of $5,000 and above

– Manage portfolio of a minimum of 25-50 donors and prospects through individualized stewardship plans that include written and verbal communications and in-person meetings, ensuring plans have clear and achievable goals and strategies that are compatible with and maximize fundraising opportunities

– Grow donor and prospect portfolio through research and identification of potential donors with capability of giving $5,000 and above

– Maintain accurate donor records with Meals on Wheels of RI CRM (DonorQuest)

– Represent Meals on Wheels of RI at events as needed

– Support fundraising efforts of the Director, External Relations & Mission Advancement and Executive Director

– Other duties, per the ever-changing needs of the organization
