Looking ahead with excitement and purpose, MOWRI’s 2030 plan is a bold strategy with four core pillars that will propel the organization toward long-term sustainable growth and advance its mission impact across the state.
Our Guiding Strengths
Our work under MOWRI 2025, our first strategic plan in decades, has realized tremendous growth toward long-term sustainability. Our accomplishments during this ambitious, three-year plan, have included:
- Expanded our role in health, aging, and equity ecosystems
- Strengthened partnerships to accelerate growth
- Embraced innovation as a core growth tool
- Diversified our team and board makeup
- Realized a sustainable fund development portfolio
- Expanded service to every Rhode Island community
- Extended service to pregnant and postpartum women, Rhode Islanders living with chronic illness including HIV/AIDS, and school children
- Grown daily meal service by 77 percent
- Introduced culturally responsive congregate dining programs
Our Planning Process
Beginning in spring 2025, our strategic planning process spanned five months and involved deep engagement with our board of directors, team, and stakeholder groups to inform plan development.
