Building Impact

A $2 million renovation of our Providence Headquarters

Future Meals on Wheals of Rhode Island Building

Be Part of our Future

In March 2025, Meals on Wheels of Rhode Island delivered its 21 millionth meal — a milestone made possible by supporters like you. Now, we’re launching something just as meaningful: Building Impact, our first-ever capital campaign.

We’re renovating our headquarters at 70 Bath Street in Providence to better serve Rhode Island’s older adults, families, and neighbors in need. With your support, this $2 million transformation will:

• Ensure Long-Term Sustainability
• Enhance Volunteer Experience
• Expand Community Programs

This space is more than a building. It’s the foundation for our shared mission of delivering independence, dignity, and connection — one meal at a time.

Now, we’re inviting you to help us bring this vision to life and strengthen our mission for years to come.

In 2022, Meals on Wheels of Rhode Island celebrated its 20th million meal and commenced a three-year planning period Our strategies for preparing for our next 20 meals include investing in our infrastructure.

In 2023, we engaged Saccoccio & Associates Architects to conduct a feasibility study of our Providence headquarters. This building, located at 70 Bath Street in the Smith Hill neighborhood of Providence, is key to how our mission flows to every community across Rhode Island, including Block Island. The feasibility study demonstrated that with reasonable renovation and repairs, our headquarters could be a modern and efficient space that would allow MOWRI to better serve its clients and community.

Renovations

Later that year, MOWRI established a capital campaign to raise the funds necessary to realize building designs that prioritize addressing fundamentals, modernizations and beautification. In total, the renovation has five stages with the first two completed.
