Since 2021, MOWRI has served perinatal and postpartum maternal health patients as an extension of its “More Than a Meal” service model.
Through various healthcare partnerships across Rhode Island, MOWRI provides home-delivered meals and supplemental groceries as a preventative health intervention, helping pregnant individuals and new moms to manage chronic health conditions, maintain access to adequate nutrition, and navigate pregnancy and postpartum life with reduced stress and anxiety.
Services provided have been shown to decrease hospital readmissions following childbirth and to lower healthcare costs.
In 2025, this program delivered 59,417 meals to 1,997 individuals.
