Meals on Wheels of Rhode Island proudly announces the appointment of Giselle Mahoney, RDW Group Partner & Senior Account Executive, to its Board of Directors for a three-year term.
“Giselle’s expertise in public relations and volunteer leadership, combined with her deep commitment to our mission, will be an invaluable asset to Meals on Wheels of RI in elevating the visibility of its statewide impact,” said MOWRI Board Chair Corey McCarty, senior vice president and general manager, CCA Health Rhode Island.
Mahoney joined RDW Group, a Providence-based full-service marketing and PR firm, in 2017. She brings more than 16 years of marketing, communications, and PR experience to MOWRI, with much of her work focused on public health, older adults, and social and community services.
“I am so excited to join the MOWRI team,” said Mahoney. “MOWRI’s mission is to alleviate food insecurity and social isolation among our state’s older adults. It is one of the most important causes I’ve had the privilege of contributing to. I cannot wait to work with the amazing MOWRI team to grow the organization’s presence, opportunities, and impact.”
Mahoney is a graduate of Leadership Rhode Island’s Pi II class (2020) and has been a Leadership Rhode Island Certified Strengths Coach since December 2020. She additionally serves as a board member and past president of the Public Relations Society Southeastern New England chapter. Her other volunteer work includes fundraising, donations, and activities through RDW’s Positive Purpose community service committee and annual holiday gift drives for older adults in assisted living and nursing care communities.
Mahoney holds a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Rhode Island. A native of Warwick, she resides with her family in North Kingstown.
